Bond... James Bond

A few weeks back I went to an amazing event that launched the new fragrance for 007. Marking the 50th Anniversary to celebrate James Bond and all it's glory had its amazing advantages. The event was held at the Barbican Centre where all the films costumes were displayed. Special guest, Lindy Hemming - the costume designer for the films, discussed the background of why agent 007 is so desirable. The event concluded with a tour of the costume designs for all of the famous James Bond films. Although my James Bond history doesn't stretch that far, I was able to make reference from some of the cliche characters with the more recent mimics of the Austin Powers franchise - I was quietly giggling to myself when I saw the original clip of the heavy set Japanese gangster viciously throwing his top hat at a porcelain statue, knocking its head off. For those Austin Powers fans like myself.... yes, this really does happen in the original film.

The 007 fragrance is a real masculine smell that would make any man want to be a secret agent - the hidden twisted lid only makes you that much closer. For all those die hard Bond fans, the fragrance is exclusive to Harrods and is literally flying off the shelf! £32.00 for 75ml or £42.00 for 125ml

A little Miracle

This British summer is driving me absolutely crazy! Not only that, It's ruining my hair on a daily basis. After this weird week I really needed a quick deep cleanser and all round "miracle" to fix my problem. It just felt overly dry and damaged. So lo and behold Aussie Limited Edition 3 Minute Miracle. I've heard so many good things about this little savior in a tube so I thought I'd give it a go and see what all the fuss was about - after all, tonight is "wash my hair night." After I applied a little dollop to my hair and waited for those three minutes to go by, I felt instant softness as soon as I started to rinse. It's that amazing feeling when you run your fingers through your hair and there's no tangles or knots - I love that feeling. This is a prefect treatment for me because I really don't have the time or patience to be dealing with a 20 minute deep condition or mask. I want to be in and out and still have a great result... and this pretty much hit the mark for me. It's a great little pick me up for those looking to keep they're hair care regime on a budget and still have an amazing finish. A definite recommendation from me!

Enrich yourselves

Well, I've officially returned from my non blogging hiatis and am back on the blogosphere again!

Yay! To kick off my return I'm starting with my new favourite shampoo and conditioner duo, Enrich by Wella Professionals. My favourite thing about these little lifesavers in orange is the feeling of cleanliness that they leave your hair with. It's hard to explain as the overall idea of shampoo is of course to clean your hair, but this is like a whole new experience. The results are amazing and actually long lasting. Even the smell is a clean one - I wouldn't say it was overly fragrant, just clean. The best thing about Wella products are the ingredients... this one has silk extract!

Overall it has everything I look for in a shampoo and conditioner....

Buy of the week

This is definitely going down as the best product to buy right now... and I didn't even buy it! Thanks to this months Glamour magazine, I've gotten a sizable sample of L'occitane Angelica Face Toner with my purchase. It's such a great product because it's alcohol free - most toners have loads of alcohol in them so it's great that I've finally found a toner that doesn't burn.

I've never described a smell as soothing but whatever the fragrance is, it's so lovely. It's almost like rose water and it just makes you feel clean. I use it once in the morning and once at night before I got to bed. I've also used it a few times after the gym which really helps moisturize after an hour of sweating... or in my case a half an hour. I've already gotten through my sample bottle and purchased two regular sized ones just in case I need a back up. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

The best of British

Happy Friday everyone! I'm sure you're all gearing up for the long weekend of street parties and celebrations here in Britain. I can honestly say that I've never been so excited to be in the UK for such an exciting event. So to start the weekend off, here's some of my favourite products in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
This YSL eye shadow pallet breaks the bank at £69, but you can't put a price on celebration.
I love the red white and blue sparkels in this shade. The fact that it's a limited edition makes it even more enticing... and it can be recycled for 4th of July parties!

If sparkles aren't festive enough for you then opt for red, white and blue shades like this one from OPI and create your own Union Jack designs.

This is by far the most wanted item to bring in the Jubilee. No celebration even needed!

I love this! It makes me want to eat toast all weekend long!

I hope you all have a fab weekend! XOXO

My summer wish list

As summer has finally arrived in the UK I've decided to share with you my summer wish list. The entire definition of this is basically things I need... and want to get me through the summer. I don't know anyone who doesn't have some sort of idea of the key pieces they want to wear this summer so here's some of mine!
Image 4 of ASOS Skinny Jeans In Floral Print #4
Asos skinny jeans:
Florals are great for the summer! shorts, dresses and jeans are super cute with  sandals and a blazer for a day out.
I love these wedges from Topshop. The neutral colour will go with anything and I'll probably still wear them in the winter.
I'm really into stripped maxi dresses this summer.  Everyone's in a maxi and there's so many different styles out at the moment. You can never go wrong with a maxi!
Kimonos are a great cover up for sunbathing by the pool.

I love this clutch. The tassels give it such a vintage feel. Perfect for summer nights or festivals, and it's only £35!

Tips and Tricks

I always love to read about different beauty tips that people have. I always find that whatever I read, I try out and see how it works. After years of being a beauty junkie I've come up with some tricks myself.

Tip #1 Softer lips
You will need:
-Chapstick with SPF
-Regular office tape
-Toothbrush
-Your favourite lipstick (Mine's Dolly Pink by Barry M)
With the sun recently peaking out of it's winter coma, it's probably a good idea to give your lips a little TLC. It's probably best to do this at night or in the morning when you brush your teeth. First take two pieces of tape, small enough to cover both your top and bottom lip - this will take off all the dead skin cells (Have a look at the tape after to see for your self - it's gross!) Then brush your lips with toothpaste, not too hard. It will tingle after and give that plump look without the fillers. Once your done add some chapstick to get the moisture back in your lips, the slap on some lipstick and your good to go.

Tip #2 Keeping rings from turning green:
You will need:
-Your favourite ring
-Clear nail polish (Mine's NYC clear polish)
Everyone always has this problem - it's the curse of only being able to afford costume jewellery. This is the simplest trick and takes seconds. Take your ring and paint the inside of it with clear nail polish - give it about two coats and wallah! Just keep applying coats every month or so and your finger will never turn green.

Tip #3 Softer skin
You will need:
-Any type of lotion
-Baby oil
-Loofah
This is a great way to get super soft skin on the go. Get yourself a really good loofah and scrub your skin dry. A lot of the time you read to do it in the shower but I think that it gets more dead skin off this way. Just remember not to do it so hard as you'll end up with sore red skin. Once your done Lather with lotion and let dry. For instant shine and glow, add a dollop of baby oil.

What kind of beauty tricks do you have up your sleeve?
