My summer wish list

As summer has finally arrived in the UK I've decided to share with you my summer wish list. The entire definition of this is basically things I need... and want to get me through the summer. I don't know anyone who doesn't have some sort of idea of the key pieces they want to wear this summer so here's some of mine!
Image 4 of ASOS Skinny Jeans In Floral Print #4
Asos skinny jeans:
Florals are great for the summer! shorts, dresses and jeans are super cute with  sandals and a blazer for a day out.
I love these wedges from Topshop. The neutral colour will go with anything and I'll probably still wear them in the winter.
I'm really into stripped maxi dresses this summer.  Everyone's in a maxi and there's so many different styles out at the moment. You can never go wrong with a maxi!
Kimonos are a great cover up for sunbathing by the pool.

Dorothy Perkins Beaded Wood Frame Clutch Bag, £35

I love this clutch. The tassels give it such a vintage feel. Perfect for summer nights or festivals, and it's only £35!

Tips and Tricks

I always love to read about different beauty tips that people have. I always find that whatever I read, I try out and see how it works. After years of being a beauty junkie I've come up with some tricks myself.

Tip #1 Softer lips
You will need:
-Chapstick with SPF
-Regular office tape
-Toothbrush
-Your favourite lipstick (Mine's Dolly Pink by Barry M)
With the sun recently peaking out of it's winter coma, it's probably a good idea to give your lips a little TLC. It's probably best to do this at night or in the morning when you brush your teeth. First take two pieces of tape, small enough to cover both your top and bottom lip - this will take off all the dead skin cells (Have a look at the tape after to see for your self - it's gross!) Then brush your lips with toothpaste, not too hard. It will tingle after and give that plump look without the fillers. Once your done add some chapstick to get the moisture back in your lips, the slap on some lipstick and your good to go.

Tip #2 Keeping rings from turning green:
You will need:
-Your favourite ring
-Clear nail polish (Mine's NYC clear polish)
Everyone always has this problem - it's the curse of only being able to afford costume jewellery. This is the simplest trick and takes seconds. Take your ring and paint the inside of it with clear nail polish - give it about two coats and wallah! Just keep applying coats every month or so and your finger will never turn green.

Tip #3 Softer skin
You will need:
-Any type of lotion
-Baby oil
-Loofah
This is a great way to get super soft skin on the go. Get yourself a really good loofah and scrub your skin dry. A lot of the time you read to do it in the shower but I think that it gets more dead skin off this way. Just remember not to do it so hard as you'll end up with sore red skin. Once your done Lather with lotion and let dry. For instant shine and glow, add a dollop of baby oil.

What kind of beauty tricks do you have up your sleeve?

A night out with Nazila

On Friday night I attended a beauty blogger event hosted by Nazila Love Glamour and Amazing PR. I arrived at the Piccadilly Theater in London where Ghost the musical was playing and headed to the cozy American Airlines bar. We were greeted with cocktails and mingled while manicurists on site gave us a 'Nazila glam manicure.' Everyone in the room was topped up with the ever glitzy nails and looked fab. While I sat and got my manicure, sipping my champagne cocktail (as you do) I realized how easy they were to put on... my thoughts first go to a quick nail fix for a Saturday night out.

As much as I loved the diamond studded nails, I couldn't take my eyes off the GB rocks brand that they had to show. It's perfect for my upcoming Jubilee and Olympic parties... I like to show GB spirit. See it here!

If long nails isn't what your into (I'm not much of a fan) then consider trimming them down or using one nail at a time. This is the look that I ended up with. What do you guys think?

The event was such a lovely night and it was so great to see such a fun brand be discovered. Thanks Amazing PR, Nazila Love Glamour and the people at Ghost for such a lovely night!

Loving Lucy Folk

I've had the most eventful and relaxing weekend. To end on a bang, I can proudly say that I've just discovered the most amazing jewellery collection by designer Australian designer, Lucy Folk. The pieces are just amazing! It's all inspired by my favourite past time... food! Her newest, 'spices collection' includes orange peel shaped necklaces and even raisin earrings! All inspired from the colours and shapes that are found at spice markets. The entire collection is so unique - it makes for such a rewarding purchase. I personally have my eye on the cotton crocheted 'Marsala bracelets' which are a favourite of mine in the collection.

Check out the entire collection here!

Spa days

After watching this weeks episode of Made in Chelsea, (don't judge, you know you watch it too!) I've never wanted to have a spa weekend more. Since that doesn't fit into my schedule anytime soon, I've decided on a DIY day. This will consist of copious amounts of beauty products, bubbly, magazines and a few girly movies... I'm thinking Mean Girls starring a relatively normal Lindsay Lohan.

Anyhow, this "spa time" will include these must haves!

Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Masque: I love Dermalogica! They really have the best stuff - this is a great face masque for any spa day. I love when a face masque tingles... it means it's working!

Clean and Clear Morning Scrub: Everyone needs to have a good scrub, the dead skin cells come right off. This one comes in a grapefruit flavour that smells so yummy.

Bliss Fat Girl Scrub: For the fat girl inside all of us... I've always thought the name was hilarious every time I saw it on the Bliss counter. It's great for cellulite and really gets the circulation going. Plus it makes your skin feel extra smooth - pair it with a really good loofah for extra exfoliation.

Herbal Essence: This has been my go to brand ever since I switched from Johnson's Baby shampoo. I like to change-up the flavours but the one in my shower at the moment is Hello Hydration. It really does hydrate... and smells delish!

Dove Essential Moisturizer: I can't stand potent smelling lotion. It completely takes the purpose of perfume away. This one is great because it has a nice clean smell that doesn't overpower.

Bumble and Bumble Quenching Masque: I can't stress how great this hair masque is. Great for frizzy and dry hair which thanks to the UK climate, I rock on a daily basis.

Bio Oil: Everyone loves Bio Oil! It's super nourishing and great to banish blemish scars. It's been a lifesaver but can be a bit messy.

Models Own: I love Models Own. They have such fun colours which means I can't just pick one! Blue Lagoon is definitely a new fav.

Philosophy Microdelivery Peel: If you can't afford a facial peel or microdermabrasion then you're in luck cause it does both... all in one little pot! Bit pricey but totally worth it!

Clarisonic: This will literally change your life! I use it on both my face and neck and it feels so soft after. I like to put lavender oil on my face and then scrub - it stays soft for days.

What are your go to spa favourites?

Hello gorgeous!

I'm once again in love with all that is beauty. Who knows if it's because I'm a girl or if it's just because I absolutely love any excuse to talk about my favourtie beauty brands. Say 'Hello' to Benefit's Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow... what a mouthful! I love everything about Benefit so I knew they would not disappoint. I have yet to discover the worlds perfect concealer or foundation but this does come in pretty close. It's not so much about coverage even though it covers in all the right places, it's more about the brightness it adds to your complexion. With spf 25 it's a perfect amount of cover for the summer. I never use a heavy foundation in the summer anyway so this really does fit the bill.

Pair it with You Rebel before a night out.

Anyone else tried it?

Crocodile rock

I really love when beauty brands bring out the specialty nail paints like caviar pearls, shatter paint and magnetic effects. Once again my favourite brand Barry M has proved to not disappoint with croc nail effects polish. For those that have tried the shatter nail polish it sort of does the same thing but rather than giving it a cracked appearance it gives the effect of crocodile skin - probably why it's called "croc effects."  I really prefer the croc style to the shatter as it can look kinda messy. I've always been afraid to wear black but pairing it with a bright colour underneath looks so cute!

When I first got it I was so excited and put it on straight away over my already dried nail polish. Stupidly I didn't read the label where it said in big bold letters DO NOT APPLY TO DRY POLISH! Oops!

I would recommend layering it on in a medium to thick amount as if it's too thin it won't look right but it's too thick it turns out to be clumpy. Even if it takes you a couple tries, don't get discouraged as the results are amazing!

I used a bright coral colour and topped it with croc nail effects in black.

Love it? Get yours here!

Desert island "beauty discs"

Everyone's heard of the phrase desert island discs and you've all been asked the question of "if you're stranded on a desert island, what music would you have with you?" or "what celebrity would you take with you?" That's all fine and well but if I was really stranded on a desert island I'd be more concerned with the lack of beauty products that I'd be without so here's my desert island beauty discs.

Love those Barry M colours! They scream "I'm stuck on a desert island but my nails look great."
I can't live without chapstick and I love the cherry flavour - It's delicious!
Flowerbomb is my favourite and will keep me smelling good!
Just because you're stuck on a desert island doesn't mean you neglect your eyebrows! I love the Shavata heart shaped tweezers - they're so cute!
I'm going to say it's a tropical island so why not keep with the theme and use Batiste in Tropical!
I always use sunblock, even in the winter as you can never be too safe - so that's coming too!
Studio Fix has always been the best at covering up blemishes.
Lipglass in C-thru has been a staple for years. Love it!

Now let's change desert to dessert island and all is good.

Met Gala 2012

The who's who of New York and all our favourite celebs were traipsing the streets of New York City last night attending the 2012 Met Gala. For those who don't know what it is, it's basically this prestigious event hosted by Vogue where people come dressed up to officially open the Metropolitan Museum's fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute - no big deal right? Now when I say dressed up, I'm talking ball gowns and tiaras - well maybe not tiaras but the dresses are really ones to watch.

It really is the fashion world's best red carpet event to date. Gorgeous gowns and gorgeous people make it a really sought after night - the 'Night of Night's' as it's known. I've always kept a look out for my favourite and worst dresses throughout the years as some of the gowns can be a little wonderfully weird.

Here's some of the best and worst:

Best

This Dolce and Gabanna gown is my favourite of them all! Scarjo looks gorge!

Worst

Who do you guys think is the best and worst of the event? Mine's a definite tie for 'worst' place between Lilly Collins and Kristen Stewart. There's always next time girls!

See all of last nights looks here.

Love to Louboutin

Raise your hand if your a fan of Christian Louboutin! (I can imagine almost all of you readers raising your hand - myself included.)

Now raise your hand if you own a pair of those red soled devils! (Now I imagine maybe half of you raising your hand - myself not included.)

We all know that Louboutin's aren't the most pocket friendly shoes, but it doesn't mean we all can't appreciate them. Their red soled trade mark makes these shoes hard to miss on the street. I even read an article from an actress who was dressing for her role in a movie and refused to wear the Louboutin's her stylist picked out because she thought her character would never be able to afford them. The stylist then thought that no one would be able to tell. The actress responded saying, "anyone could recognize those red soles" - and she's right!

To celebrate the amazing designs and love of our favourite shoes, the Christian Louboutin Exhibition is now available at the Design Museum in London. The exhibit celebrates monsieur Louboutin's 20 years of designs from sneakers and stilettos to boots and pumps. The exhibit takes you through the process from the design to the development of the red soled beauties. As for all my fellow shoe-lovers out there I suggest you take some time and go see it - it's spectacular! See a little sneak peak here.

What's your favourite style?

Mine!

Celebrity airport style

Growing up in California our nearest airport was LAX and everyone who's traveled to that airport knows that you are probably more likely to see some celeb catching a flight there. Nothing annoys me more than when I see photos of celebs getting off 18 hour flights and looking fabulous, so I do my best to mimic them. I'm not a fan of Vicky B and Lady G's 8 inch heels/tight dress airport style but I do like the glam/casual looks that some celebs rock.

Here's some looks I picked out:

Sienna Miller
Vanessa Hudgens
Lauren Conrad

Big bags, scarfs and sunnies are a favourite when travelling. Here's some of my go to items for flights:

Anya Hindmarch iPad case
Stella McCartney Falabella bag
Cashmere socks
Evian facial spray

Any beauty tips for flights?

Celebrity style crush

I have to admit that I was the biggest Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen fan growing up. I had all of their videos and was obsessed with the sitcom Full House. Over the years the Olsen twins turned into these sort of "style vixens" if you will, but I personally couldn't really jump on the band wagon. Then who would have thought, out of nowhere pops up their younger sister and steps into the spotlight wowing everyone with her acting skills and fashion style.

My celeb style crush is Elizabeth Olsen. I think she's so gorgeous and the stuff she puts together really looks great on her.

Here's some imitation looks

Malene Birger white blazer
Aftershock Boutique dress for New Look

Floral print dress from Republic
Jen Kao dress

What do you guys think of Elizabeth Olsen's style?
